Marta Maria paved her way as a powerhouse woman in the horticulture industry, but didn’t start in this industry! She began her journey at Bacardi Rum Company in Puerto Rico. When Bacardi noticed her dedication and immense work ethic, they promoted her to the Senior Brand Manager of Bacardi USA and she made her big move to the states!

Today’s guest on Grow! with Katie is Wambui Ippolito of Wambui Loves Plants.

Wambui is a graduate of New York Botanical Garden’s School of Professional Horticulture, where she studied under national and international design masters. In fact, she was the first and only black female graduate of the school.

Today’s guest on Grow! with Katie is landscape designer and author, Daniel Nolan.

Daniel’s gardens can be described as both expressive and refined, combining lush plantings with minimalist hardscapes. They transport the visitor into another world where local climate and geography fade away.

Today’s guest on Grow! with Katie, for Houseplant Wednesday, is Nick Pileggi of Philly Foliage!

Nick’s love of houseplants began when a friend pointed out that he has none in his apartment, which came to a shock to him since he loved gardening with his father growing up. A Dracaena Fragrans or “Corn Plant” resparked his interest in plants and he now has over 120 houseplants!

Kevin got into gardening in early 2011 with his first hydroponics setup. He lived in a condo so he didn’t have space for a big backyard soil garden.

Today’s guest on Grow! with Katie, closing out Women in Horticulture Week, is the Vice President of The Davey Tree Company, Sandra Reid.

Sandra is not only the Vice President of corporate communications and strategic plan administration, but she is the FIRST vice president. A trail blazer.

Today’s guest on Grow! with Katie, continuing Women in Horticulture week, is Terri McEnaney of Bailey Nurseries.

Terri is the current President of Bailey Nurseries, since 2001. Being a fourth-generation Bailey family member, she grew up around the business and worked at the nursery in high school. She received her Business degree with an emphasis on accounting and went to work in the corporate world for eight years.
