Plant One Forward from Summer Rayne

You may have seen the recent posts on Instagram or YouTube from Homestead Brooklyn, but inunnamed-2 case you haven't, we wanted to share an initiative she is sprouting called "Plant One Forward".

We have all been thinking of ways in which we can easily bring cheer to people around the world and support one another while coming together as a Community of Plant Lovers. ⁣

⁣Many of our favorite plant shops and nurseries around the world have had to start moving sales online, implement roadside pick up, lay off workers, and temporarily close their doors to the Coronavirus. Additionally, most of us will need to stay at home and avoid gatherings and even the most basic human contact. ⁣

At this point, there’s no telling how long this will be so. For plant businesses, this can be a huge blow. And for many individuals, this uncertainty and disconnect can be debilitating. ⁣⁣

That’s why we’d like to call your attention to Summers campaign.

We invite you to participate in “PLANT ONE FORWARD”.

The idea is simple. Help your favorite local or online plant shop by purchasing ONE plant and sending it to someone you think could really use some cheering up…maybe it’s a loved one, a friend, or someone you have fallen out of contact with—whomever you think could use it most. ⁣⁣

If even 100 of us do so, we’ll positively affect the lives of 300 people (you, the person who owns the shop, and the person you give to); 300 becomes 900; 900 becomes 2,700; 2,700 becomes 8,100; 8,100 becomes 24,300; 24,300 becomes 72,900; 72,900 becomes 218,700—and so on and so forth. ⁣

⁣We all know plants make perfect gifts, as they really keep on giving—especially in times like this. We can #SpreadLove and Joy without the risk of spreading the Coronavirus.⁣

If you are a retailer, Summer is asking that you tag yourselves in this post so that the plant community can see who is starting to sell online, delivering or doing pick-up. That way we can start compiling a list of our favorite shops whom we can help. Additionally, if you have friends that you think would like to participate to #PlantOneForward, feel free to share the post or this email.

⁣I purchased my first #PlantOneForward gift—a Rio Samba rose for my mother, who loves roses. And some

Think of someone in your life whom you think will appreciate your gift and #PlantOneForward.
