A Fresh New Look: Our Social Media Refresh

We've Got a New Look in 2025!

We’re taking an inside look at our very own social media strategy, the updates we’re making in 2025, and sharing a dash of inspiration to take back to your own digital strategy.

Instagram was good to us in 2024. Our reach soared by 52%, our follower count grew by 21.7%, and we saw an 8.7% increase in audience interaction.

But our feeling is, even when things look good, you don’t stop creating. So, we decided it was time to revamp our look to reflect our vibrant, dynamic brand, team, and the 2025 Garden Trends Color of the Year.

"Our social media team – which consists of six of us – came together to reimagine our entire approach," says Katie Dubow, President of Garden Media Group. “From crafting a new style guide and fresh templates to updating our voice and adding exciting features, we’re taking our feed to the next level. It was a collaborative effort that brought out the best of our creativity and expertise, and we can’t wait for you to experience it!”

The rebrand was led by the creative genius of our colleague, account executive Becky Paxton. She used photos from our recent photo shoot to create compelling Reel covers, templates, and shift us to be more color-forward.

“Even if you don’t do a total rebrand every year (and you really shouldn’t!), it’s worth setting a date in your calendar once a year to look back on your social account and see what worked, both in terms of content and aesthetics, and what didn’t,” explains Becky. “With new tools like Instagram’s built-in archive feature and Sprout Social’s grid planner, you can delete or archive material that no longer serves its purpose and streamline your look so that you start the new year off on the right foot.”

What's New?

  • A Burst of Color: We've injected a trendy, vibrant color into the mix (hello, Teal!) into our feed and tweaked our palette to make it pop!
  • Fresh New Photos: We had a team photoshoot and captured some high-quality images that capture the essence of our brand, perfect for team highlights and b-rolls.
  • Streamlined Fonts: When scrolling the feed, you'll notice that we've simplified our typography (AKA cut some fonts from our roster), making it easier to read and more aesthetically pleasing.
  • Super Sleek New Templates: Our posts will now feature sleek, modern templates that enhance the overall look and feel of our feed, with a balance of photos of plants, people, and text!
  • Exciting New Interview Format: We're thrilled to introduce a fresh interview format with our influencer partners, offering you exclusive insights into their shopping habits and their hot takes on controversial topics such as – ‘Content creator, influencer, what do you want to be called?’

Why the Refresh?
A strong social media presence is essential for connecting with our audience and staying relevant in today's digital age. By refreshing our Instagram feed, we aim to:

  • Enhance Brand Image: Our new look reflects our brand's evolution and reinforces our commitment to innovation and creativity.
  • Boost Engagement: A visually appealing and engaging feed is more likely to capture attention and drive interaction.
  • Improve Brand Recall: A consistent and memorable visual identity helps strengthen brand recognition.

Reflecting on YOUR Social Strategy
Now that you've seen our fresh new look let's take a moment to go through it step-by-step to reflect on your own social media strategy.

Here are a few tips to help you freshen up your feed:

  • Visual Audit: Take a step back and assess your current feed. Are your visuals consistent and engaging? Do they accurately reflect your brand's personality?
  • Color Palette: A well-chosen color palette can make a big difference. Consider using a color palette generator or working with a designer to create a visually appealing color scheme.
  • Typography: Clean, easy-to-read fonts can improve the readability of your posts. Experiment with different font pairings to find the perfect combination.
  • Content Calendar: A content calendar can help you plan your posts in advance. This will ensure a consistent posting schedule and prevent last-minute scrambling.

By conducting a yearly social media audit, you can craft a visually appealing social media presence that captures attention and inspires action, leading to increased engagement and conversions. An annual audit will help you identify areas for improvement, measure your performance, and refine your strategy to maximize your ROI.

We can't wait to see what you create!
