1. Creating your Campaign

Social media campaign options vary. First pick your platform and do your research. What works well on which sites? And most importantly, what works best for YOU?

Facebook is one of the most popular sites for a campaign, but is it right for the content of your campaign?

Encourage followers to engage with your brand by hosting a contest or posting a quiz.

Recognize what you hope to accomplish. Then, plan and prepare around these goals. Think about how you are going to get to the finish line with success in hand.

2. Promote!

If you don’t promote your social media campaign, expect it to flop.

Social Media Examiner says that “seventy-five percent of campaign success is due to promotion.” This is huge!

Utilize the sources you have to promote your campaign. If your campaign will be on Facebook, talk about it on your website, as well as your other social media platforms. Blog about it!

You want to make sure your audience has all the details and is anticipating your social campaign’s launch.

3. Incentives

Offer a prize that relates to your brand and therefore is relevant to your audience.

Be sure that the effort and actions you are asking of your followers correlates with the prize offered - they should be fairly equal.

Tips:

- Suggest that sharing with others gives followers a better chance to win. Not only does this help them in the contest, but it also helps your brand to expand its audience... which is the entire point!

- People worry about sharing too much information, they think if they give their phone number they will receive calls from solicitors, or if they give their email they will be spammed. So only ask participants for the information that is necessary to your campaign.

- Make it easy for your followers to engage and participate, more people will join in.

Social media campaigns can be extremely successful if done right. They can also be a lot of fun for your brand and your followers! Now, go out there and start that campaign!
